Target areasThough we currently have projects from a wide range of organisms, we are currently concentrating on a large number of targets from the following species:1) The extremophile archaea Sulfolobus solfataricus. We are concentrating on the DNA-repair proteins in this organism, which are closely related to human proteins. 2) Viruses of extremophile archaea, such as Sulfolobus islandicus rod-shaped virus 1, and Pyrobaculum spherical virus. 3) Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), particularly proteins unique to the pathogenic forms. 4) Clostridium difficile, where we are examing proteins involved in virulence. 5) Proteins from a pathogenicity island in Vibrio cholerae, |
